The Serpenths, seeing the Aeries fussing over each other in the treetops around Subeta, grew jealous--just slightly jealous, they claim.
Without a word, they all slithered off into the night (much to the joy of the smaller species, who would finally have a bit of rest without fear of being eaten), leaving many owners confused as to the whereabouts of their beloved pets.
But of course, they've returned--and brought a surprise with them. No one is quite certain where those patterns came from, but they seem a bit attached.

I don't really like the color. It looks like it's got some weird skin disease or something. I think the color should be a light green and dark green color with a different color hair. I do not like the feathers below the wings, but the wings are absolutely beautiful! I also do not like the smile or the hair, I think it should be more like the original hair.

It seems a bit too busy, messy, detailed, or whatever adjective you'd like. I think it's the rattlesnake markings that are doing it. Take those out and I think it'd look much better. I am disappointed that it's definitively a snake now and not part wyrm, but what can ya do? Other than that, I see nothing wrong with it. Those long feathers at the base of the wings are placed oddly and wouldn't normally belong on a wing, but I'm assuming that's intentional. Nice work though.

While, as many have said, there are a few nitpicky areas, I'v already grown very fond of this new version. Frankly, the old serpenth reminded me quite a bit of...well, a sperm. Hopefully I'm allowed to say that. <br />

I like the new one much better, in total design, but there are a couple things that bug me... the tail tip looks strange the way it is. I can't quite put my finger on why, though. And the wing in the back strikes me as being too small.<br />

Yes but what everyone as to realize that is complaining about the color change in the common pose is that is being the -arid- color scheme, just paint it arid.
I like the revamp, it was quite a surprise, its completly defferent though but nice all the same. I do have a few nitpicks though. Well, the head seems to be a little on the small size, I think if you made it a tad larger, it'll be fine. Also I think the muzzle should be a teensy bit longer but I'm used to dragon muzzels more than snake muzzels. The area that curves from the body to the neck is a bit too much of a curve, almost like half an oval, I think that pushing the head back and toning down that curve would make it look more confortable and less of a curved 'Z'. Also I think you should raise the head a bit, it looks almost about ready to plop off. ;x Also the very tip of the mane of hair overlaps the wing, making it look like he is cocking his head to a weird angle and it looks painful. (The wing should overlap the strand of hair instead.)<br />
The base of the wings are too thick, making the overall wings look very bulky and large for the body.<br />
The rest of the body seems narrow compared to mid-part, but its mostly covered by wings so its hard to tell, but he does look like he just ate something big.<br />

I voted for the revamp, since I love the new art, but I agree--I'd like to see the common Serpenth retain the colors it's always had (albeit with new patterns, I'm sure).
I think the wings are a little low on the body, but it's an overall GREAT revamp, seriously, WOW! Especially the color, awesome!

heh, I sound contradictory with my "it is pretty" and "I don't like the brown colors" ... I should say that it is nicely drawn. But the color greatly deters from the original design. Can't we just have the original black and white again? The arid can be a variation of the monochromatic colors.

I love most of the new Serpenth, but I'll agree with what some others have said- I loved the black and white, as well as the really vibrant blue eye, for the common coloring. The hair is also something that bothers me- it just seems too curly, and kinda... I dunno, gives it a funny look o_O<br />

I actually really, really like the hair and the wings on this one, and I hope it won't get changed... The placement of the wings is much better on the revamp than on the old serpenth. If changes are made, and it seems like there will be some changes, I hope we will get the choice to vote for the first revamp or the tweaked version.

I'm actually kind of dismayed that this design is going to be played with. I think the wings are placed exactly where they should be. And I don't see any problem with how heavy the wings are, it's part of the style. For heaven's sake, what is it with people comparing subeta art to real life animals? Why in the world would you make the jump from the fact that since the serpenth's wings don't look exactly like a birdwing, the artist needs to brush up on her wing-drawing skills. The serpenth is very clearly NOT a bird, and I wouldn't expect the wing to look anatomically identical. The serpenth is also ART and not a real animal, so I think some imagination is allowed here o_0.<br />

If I could change anything, I would make the top of the wing not quite so rounded and bulky, and go up a little farther, but that's just a matter of personal taste. I think it looks too much like that one Neopet on Neopets! Infact it looks ALOT like it! But I'm trying to think of what its name was? I think it was hissy or something....But yeah it looks alot like a Neopet....
Well, it's.... different. Iunno, it just doesn't seem like a Serpenth to me. If it kept its original colors, I think I'd like it better, but the new design looks more like a new color to me than a redesign of the Serpenth. :c <br />

The new art for the revamp is definitely no contest. I'm particularly in love with the wings, eyes, and the tongue. This revamps is making me consider getting a serpenth if it goes through. But, tone tiny thing. The mane is just too.....froofy. Make it a little flatter, or spikier, or feathery, or something and it will be perfect.

I love the new serpenty look, much less cartoony. I do not like the color one bit; some of us have chosen our pets very carefully for color and the default black and white for the Common serpenth is very important to at least one person I know who named it after something black and white--this pet would be rendered meaningless by a brown coloring. I know many people name their pets according to colors or have meaningful symbolism attached to the pets' colors, so revamps should not change the old colors entirely. As far as the artwork goes, as I said I love it but the mane looks like a somewhat matted toupeé rather than a mane of feathers like the old one does. It needs to be flared, standing up more stiffly or something. I love the tongue!
