Featured Game: The Bug Game!
While we continue our world tour of featured games, why don't we revisit a game from the darkest corner of Shadowglen, The Bug Game. Simply named and deceptively simple to play, can you swat your way to another 10 EPICon points? The owner of the game (as much as you can own a bit of rock and a jar of bugs, I suppose) says that if you can get in 400 hits before 5 bugs manage to slip away, there are bonus EPICon points in it for you! And if these bugs are too close for comfort, you may enjoy the mobile version of this game! I'm having a lot of fun playing on my Tangerine Touchphone.
Don't forget, you can earn extra points every day by playing our previously featured games. Seashell Spotter, Subeku, Stealth Bomber, Ziara Raceway, and Divine Discs will each award an additional 10 points to your total!

The highest score I ever got was like 250 something and that was reaching level 7 or 8 which I'm told is impossible, so this is seriously borked. The more and more problems that are happening are not cool Subeta Peeps. Especially with nothing in compensation.

Grrr The game doesn't load half of the time and that's not including the cloudflare issues. I live in the merry old land of Australia. Games like this are time consuming and I cannot stay up all night to play them. I also cannot spend most of the morning playing them as I have to catch up on housework, shopping etc. If Subeta is going to run games with bonus points etc - how about remembering that not everyone lives in the USA or even on its side of the GMT. How about running games over 48 hours instead of 24, because I and I think a few other people other than myself are missing out on gaining points for this event.
And yes, that is a full blown whinge from a whinging Aussie.

The bug game is extremely frustrating. Every time I get within 300 or even in the 200 range, I somehow end up clicking the back button and end up losing all my progress. This has happened multiple times and I wish if there were a way to prevent people from easily leaving the page with the game.

I am so sick of the "Look at me I'm so much better than you!" and "Oh let's make fun of users and their comments!" by the some snottier than though users who must have way too much time on their hands to do so! There are reasons to be complaining about the bug game because some of us expected certain games to be re-released instead of this one. I thought we were entitled to express our opinions freely on this site, and this game was based in North America and not North Korea!

After a day of struggling Im going to voice my opinion about The Bug Game. With no touch screen capabilities available I am armed only with firefox and my mouse which equal an epic fail at this game. This one puts me out of the running for reaching 400. Ick.

This is utter bull, I hit 400 bugs and the game ended and I did not get my bonus point. Instead of instantly refreshing when the game ends can't we get a game over and the option to send our score. But seriously who thought 400 was a good idea... >_>

oh. I changed to desktop view and now the game loads, but the spatula thing doesn't hit the bug where I tap, it is always a bit above or to the sides. is it supposed to be like that?

I recommend the mobile version if you can get it to load for you (took me awhile). Your wrist will be thanking you and the game seems more manageable.

I managed to get 350 my second time playing it. Not sure how I managed that since I'm half asleep at the moment hehe XD. *goes to get some coffee and try another round of games to see if I can get anywhere today* ^_^. This game has a hypnotic charm to it where you feel you have to chase down all the creepy crawlies and there are more bugs and only one of me XD. I hope there will be other things to do for Epicon besides all the game scores to submit everyday ^_^.

dont you think 500k for the last achievement is a little extreme since we can only play this game once an hour. 50k would be more realistic. Is this event going to last several months because thats what it would take to reach 500k? Ive done 2 games and scored over 1k for each game and Im only at 2,065/2,500 and no one can play 24 games a day.

Just discovered that we can play once every hour for sP and additions to the cumulative score. It's ridiculous having a cumulative score of 100K with that arrangement. Why couldn't it be 10 times a day like the other arcade games so people who can't be on all day every day have a chance to get the achievement within their lifetimes?

I can use only one hand: the left. The right hand became ill in December, 2012, so now I need the total efficiency of the left hand. The carpal tunnel is already suffering for attempts to kill those stupid bugs .... and the game suddenly reboots or scores are not detected. Suffer needlessly is not right. Um, no way! I'm not playing this game to lose 1,000 Sp and end up with a painful wrist and arm. I was hoping we would get the other Ziara game, the one that was a simulation where you do get to shoot down the pirates' planes, and Burrero Baskets. Its been months since the game was taken down, and it would be nice play it to get Epicon points. That and the Ziara Ladies simulation game.

I would like to take a moment to warn all potential players of the gross damage this game can cause to oneself. Forget the fact of carpel tunnel or rubbing ones finger raw on a trackpad. I'm talking about a complete and utter mental break down. I played one round of this. After about 150 hits or so I realized I was bored but locked in. I must finish the goal if I wanted to find the treasured points! So I found myself saying "bored" with every click. This actually helped. It was actually much better than the background music. Then my eyes started to burn. My nose started to run, and I started to question if my brain was melting in my skull. Finally, I scored the 500 necessary hits and found myself continuing to play. I sat there for a long time, lost in a fog of regret wondering why I couldn't simply just stop. I knew I only had 2 misses and surely after 500 hits it would take me a long time to reach the other 3 misses. I saw my level was 9 so I thought I might hang on until then, as a small personal goal. A good finishing number. Time ticks by and I pass 600 hits and still no level up. I keep moving forward, looking up each time to see when I've passed another 25 hit mark. These small goals were the only thing that could keep me going. I started to contemplate the differences in time between humans and dogs. What seems like a year passes by much more quickly for a dog, as it's seven of his. This game was the uber human. One second of this game felt like a month that I was use to. Time ticked by, constantly checking my score. Then I thought I saw a light shine down on me from the heavens. Level 10, there it was. However, I noticed something.... "What is this?", I asked myself. Hits: 0. NO! This cannot be! A quick scan of the text above the game and I see it.... the hits recent every 5 levels. Once my brain registered that I would be lost in a perpetual bug laden life, using only my nubs to survive the eternity, I could do nothing else but let out the biggest scream I could muster. Then... it was over. My scream penetrated the time barrier that had existed in my winged Hell and freed me from it's torment. Hits: 6. I beseech thee... the points are not worth your sanity.

I'm finding 400 to be quite achievable, tbh. I've gotten that high every game so far. The real problem is the wear and tear to the fingers and wrists... I have to take a break after every 2 games... but I just move on to one of the other required games for a bit. *shrugs* I was unable to max out my points with the Ziara Raceway game due to the site crashing, and being a bit of a failure at that game so I guess I'm just making up for it here.

Looks like this'll be the first day I don't maximize my scores. I could easily do the 125 bugs (minus that the score doesn't get sent) but the 400 is beyond me... Oh well, guess I'll just have to hope it's something more up my alley tomorrow ;)

After trying it out a few times, 400 is actually pretty easy. The problem is that the game can very easily tire out your wrist and if you are like me, it can also increase stress levels to points where it can make you feel fatigue.

I'm gonna say that 400 is incredibly steep since it's a very tiring game to play, especially for the eyes since the bugs are quite small so yes, eye strain + possibly hand pains can be gotten from this game. I'm not sure about the latter but my eyes are definitely incredibly sore after playing it twice :P

I enjoy this game, but isn't 400 a little overkill (excuse the pun) for a bonus? We've had bonuses given out for FAR easier things (read: WINNING a simple logic puzzle). I understand bonuses are for those who want to go above and beyond, but I have maxed out my points every. single. day. But I'm seriously considering not doing this. I made it to somewhere just over 350 bugs in the first game before my wrist was hurting. I can't imagine trying to break 400 TEN times.

That's not nice. Played it one time and no further scores will send. Tells me I've "played it recently". Could we at least get one of those nifty "reminders" so I know when I CAN play it again and send another score for the points? I hate the game and am only going to play it enough for scores but as I have tenosynovitis is my wrist, I won't even attempt the higher end for extra points. It hurts enough playing it the times I've already tried.

lol I was so proud of myself for smashing 553 bugs without letting one escape before quitting and then I see the requirement is actually 400. I need to read better.
Thumbs up though for being able to squash more than one bug at a time when they're close together. I've played other similar games that did allow that.
