I don't have many friends and they're not all very active so this feels sad to me. I thought the random feature was great because I didn't need to be popular and maybe other unpopular people would benefit from my clicks.
Now I am rethinking everything.

i have no feedback outside of me just enjoying the plethora of features and prizes, like. i don't know what more people could want,,, maybe a more seasoned player has higher expectations for these kinds of things, but i just genuinely enjoy seeing what's next, during an event or otherwise.
i'm introverted myself and understand how difficult interacting with others can be, especially lately when i've actually attempted to talk to people i've matched with during masq and most of them have seemed standoffish, which is discouraging, but i'm still gonna try to make friends one way or another.

@Keith How much trouble would it be to do a thing where people could load the dance floor, see 5-10 avatars of people who are masked, and click on one to ask them to dance?
I get what you mean, but making the threads shorter seems like it would help a lot with that problem, since nobody's going back to a locked claim thread. The thing about claim threads is that they are not only fast and easy for people who aren't social (you can just click on names without making an actual claim if you're not as willing to yap in public for the world to see to the degree that I am or you are), but they also give you a good idea of who's actually on and able to respond. Which is great when you're at work like I am now, though I now have a private forum group thread that just has a list of dance links of people I'm already friends with to use, they may not be online.

@gitto Or maybe folks will start dancing with friends from the sidebar, or making groups to keep dancing with each other, instead of just pressing the "random dance" button every 10 minutes. It's a 5 minute increase to an already permissive feature.
Thanks for the feedback, I'm considering how we do these types of events overall as we move things to new.subeta.net, and it's valuable :)

@Keith The point I’m getting at is that arguing for increasing the time between mystery dances because the other option for dances is more interactive isn’t necessarily the case- posting claim on a thread isn’t that interactive either. Also I’m saying I don’t have to be interactive if I don’t want because I’ve already got enough tokens, but by changing things three quarters of the way through an event without any prior warning isn’t making the case for more interaction.

@Valiska It means we have a database that is half full of posts that just say 'claimed' -- that isn't valuable for us or anyone. Instead I'd love to explore how we could jump to that second step by having people interact in a way that creates those connections, without spamming the forums.
Remember that each of those posts has metadata attached and when you load a thread it has to search through every post ever made to find the ones attached to that thread. Caching and indexing are strategies to make that faster, but at some point things start to buckle under the weight of the posts.

@Keith What's wrong with the claim threads? When I joined the site I knew like 3 people on it and they were all from Gravity Falls or Transformers RP (shocker, right?) The claim threads and game threads are how I got to know everyone else on the site, until I got into CWs. I know that they may not seem very interactive on the surface, but people who keep dancing together look at each other's profiles and start talking.

But it’s fine for the site to be running exceptionally slowly the rest of the time because of forums not capping at 1,000? Or is this permanent now? Yeah I can not interact with the event at all if I wanted because I have enough token to last me AGES; I’d also argue everyone posting ‘claim’ on a post isn’t exactly interaction haha

@Keith
It's possible mystery dances reduced the social aspect somewhat because people don't realize you can do that and do a chosen dance. I was not aware of this. I was under the impression it was either/or.
Also, I see why you're saying you increased the wait time but that feels a bit unfair when you've just a randomly granted achievement and the event only has a few days left.

Urgh. It's crappy to punish people who are not as social as others. Being forced to interact when it's not your thing isn't right., even if it's for an achievement.
Well that’s crappy. I have enough tokens so I don’t need to dance on forums, but the other extras on the mystery dances are nice. Also, it’s a masquerade and after having a dance accepted it says ‘your dance partner turned out to be so and so’, so it’s still supposed to be strangers? Haha

I'm also thinking through how we can make the "mystery dance" less of a "click and done" thing and more interactive, and also try to alleviate the massive claim threads, which I truly dislike as a method of interacting w/ the event.

We found that mystery dances reduced the number of dances coming from the (more intended) social features and dancing with friends. It's still there to be used, but has a 5 minute extra wait, but no one goes to a dance party and _only_ dances with total strangers.
I'm going to keep an eye on this, though!

if someone could help me to get the Dancing Rave Style, it'd be very appreciated. i'll update whenever i get it! (:

is the dancing rave style achievable when accepting dance invite or only when you give dance invites?

Do you have to dance on the forum to unlock? I mostly dance from my notepad... will that work to unlock?

thanks for the new borders! i love the look and definitely look forward to seeing if there are any others related to holidays also !!
also i dont think these would be too hard to come by, since i unlocked mine on my second mystery dance today. that, or i just got lucky xD

@shirastardust in your wardrobe, at the top, there is a drop down list labeled "Personal". They are under "Cosmetics". They are currently still locked, though, even if you earned them. It's being worked onl
