The PETSP (People for the ethical treatment of Subeta Pets) have lobbied for days that various area's of the site require that your pets be fed and happy. Remember that the Lakeview Resort is always open and ready to take pets who's owners can't handle the task of feeding/playing with them. :)

Well, I don't see why people are complaining. How hard is it to take 5 minutes every 2 weeks to put our pets in the resort? Shouldn't be hard to do. ^_- At least pets won't be hungry now. <img src="http://images.subeta.org/smilies/6398_emoticon_grin.gif" border="0" />

Rachel~ I don't care who says what. If it's said intelligently and with good reason, that's all that matters. You're upset because I think there should be a limit to something for multiple reasons. The only reason there shouldn't be a limit according to many is "it's just a game, can't help being faster/better, deal." This new feeding/happiness thing is great because Subeta started as a PET site. Not a HA/minion feeding/chatting site. Those that follow the basic idea get rewarded for it.

The good news for me is that I've been keeping up with all of my pets and making sure that they're all fed and happy. Heck, that's the first thing I do before I go searching out stuff in Chase's quests or talk with the Wiz. I only change up my HA maybe once or twice in the entire year (yup, that's the truth!), so I think that this is a very excellent idea.<br />

Maybe Keith can give us a part in the site where we can go on vacation with our pets to a cool new place if we've been feeding and taking care of our pets properly? That would be pretty cool.

There are tons of things to do on this site that aren't pet related. <br />

If you don't want the hassle of taking care of your pets, get rid of them. Even without pets you cans still play games, trade, Use the HA...it's doesn't have to be a "pet site" Just don't make a pet.

I'm really happy with this change. o-o Then again, I've always taken care of my pets, so it doesn't affect me at all. XD When I had 10 or less I cared for them all by hand, but with 15, I've started using the resort constantly. I take the time to train them all and raise their INT scores (all over 130 currently) now that I don't feed and play with them, though. I get bored easily and I feel bad if I don't do <i>something</i> with them. XD
It's more of a pet emotions thing. I never worked hard on my pets on neopets, never got over 2mil in np, just threw them in their resort, and felt like they had a personality. I don't know.<br />

I'm glad to see the site leaning back in the direction of being a pet site, but would it be possible to make hunger/happiness decreases a bit less erratic in the recode? Sometimes my pets will go for almost a week without decreasing from max happiness/max fullness, but sometimes they'll drop several levels in less than a day.

Rachel~ Keep your personal thoughts of me out of it. I called users that hoard minion feeding jerks. If you took offense than it's because you agree. My opinion shouldn't mean anything to you. You commented me and I told you I viewed it as harassment. I expect all of it to stay where it originated unless stated otherwise. Now here you are, IMO, trying to provoke me. To my knowledge, comments aren't meant for arguments.
I just hope all the people who are rushing and fighting over feeding the minions are feeding their own pets first

Soundly agree wih Lyzette. I was on Subeta far before the HA's existed, and I had [and have] always considered Subeta to be a "virtual pet" website. Let's keep in mind that Human Avatars are -optional-, while having a -pet-, atleast to do most events, is not [pumpkin patch, games, etc. etc.]. I personally have used the resort to me exposal for a very long time - just stick your pets in there for the 2 week period, and vuala - happy, well fed pets guaranteed. I'm glad to see this change - I think it'll start drawing people back to the true heart of Subeta, as I think it's somewhat sad to think that some users might not give a flying thought about their pets anymore, thanks to the HA system. But again, Subeta -is-, and always has been, a virtual pet site, and doubt that will ever change.

I'm glad subeta seems to be growing more into a PET site and not a HUMAN AVATAR site. What I liked more about Neopets (which is the only and one thing I liked more lol) is that we seemed somehow closer to our pets.

I don't understand why people get all huffy and holier-than-thou about the whole thing, lol. Telling people to go to another site if they don't agree with you or happen to not like a new site feature is... rather overboard.

What I'm annoyed about is that I always keep my pets bloated and very happy. When I checked on them today one of them had gone down to hungry and depressed. Are we always going to lose that many levels per day?

Sp4ade - until now I have never fed or played with my Subeta pets. I HIGHLY resent the implication that what I do on a GAME with pixels has ANY effect on how I treat my real pets. My cat is fed a grain-free diet that is home made for her from ingredients I buy at the grocery store, I won't even consider feeding her commercial pet food because in my opinion the quality is very poor (and cats were never meant to eat dehydrated food). Now I'm not trying to start a debate on how to best feed cats, that was just to illustrate that I take VERY good care of my real pet. She is at my side about 90% of the day. <br />

I have no problem keeping my pets fed, but sometimes I have to go through three or four toys before their happiness even goes up a level. I also think toys shouldn't break quite as easily as they do. <br />

I feel odd, saying that I've never used the resort. o-o;; I've always just fed and played with my pets like normal. I haven't witnessed any problems so far with my wardrobe yet either.<br />

It's OK to "love your pets" but that can mean different things to different people. Some people just like the art. Some like to have the newest thing. It's not OK to get real pets and then get bored and dump them. But these are NOT real pets. They are pictures on a computer screen. It's fun to imagine personalities for them, make art for them, roleplay with them if those are things you enjoy. But comparing the "treatment" of pixels to the treatment of real, living, breathing animals who CAN suffer... well I think that's just a little off, personally.

If you want to dress a little pixel person, chat with others, or battle then there are sites for those things. Many parents tell their kids if they can't take care of a pixel then they will never get a real pet. Believe it or not, how someone acts in a game does reflect their real life self. You may feed your real life pets, but chances are their quality of life isn't wonderful if all you do is feed them and then walk over to the computer.

Oh and those whining about not knowing when their pets are starving, It takes 5 minutes to click on the pet link and look at their status. <br />

Legeica - I admit it's a personal thing. I never understood playing a pet site, creating pet after pet after pet, especially the newest latest prettiest pet released THAT DAY. And then abandoning pet after pet, etc. Just to have the coolest new thing. It happens far to often in real life and I appreciate the site taking steps to stop it here at least, lol. I think carefully about each pet I choose which is why to this day I still only have four. Yes they are pixels, but I love them. Why play a pet site if you don't care about the pets????? ('Course the wardrobe system is a big distraction around here! <img src="http://images.subeta.org/smilies/6398_emoticon_grin.gif" border="0" /> ) I collect a lot of things myself, but keep your pets fed and happy at least!<br />

I don't understand why you would "hate" status pet collectors. This is a game site, everyone has different goals and things they like to do. If another player enjoys collecting expensive pets, good on 'em. Some people like collecting expensive clothes, some like expensive weapons. Yes, the point is to suspend disbelief so that we can have fun with our pet pixels, but I get a little concerned sometimes when some users don't seem able to comprehend the line between what's real and what isn't. They ARE pixels. They do NOT suffer.<br />

In all seriousness, whether we have to feed & play with our pets doesn't matter that much to me. It doesn't take that much SP or effort to put them into the resort, and it lasts for two weeks.
