I need everyone to go in and make sure that their payment methods are correct and up to date, as soon as possible! During the past month, a couple of things have gone a wee bit screwy with the Database and I want to make sure that everything is correct before payments start being processed.
Unfortunately, if you do not have your payment method updated by 12am EST on Saturday [technically Sunday morning, really], your method will be whatever it is, at that time.
If your payment method is correct, please disregard this post. [:

UPDATE: This has not been added to your preferences page yet. However, gold accounts will not expire tonight (even if you have 0 days left!) and they will not start expiring until we've added a week of Gold Accounts onto all accounts. (Sorry this took so long to update - we're working on getting the site to work 100%!)
The site is getting back into working order! To apologize for the downtime, we've awarded everyone who had a gold account an extra week. :)
The cash shop should be back online soon.
About the news - The reason it's backwards is a bug in MySQL, we are waiting for the site to be stable before we upgrade to fix the problem.

We've finished our move to the new servers :)! Last night Subeta came back online (Sorry about the missing pages and the little bit of lag, we were still bringing two servers online) and now we are 100% working!

Attn: All Item-Adding Staff (including me)
I've gotten a few complaints recently about the inconsistency of our item names. If we could all make that extra effort to watch how we name items in sets and compare them to items already added, I am sure the users would notice and appreciate.
Whenever I have a free moment, I have been performing searches and renaming any common misnomers I could find (these can be found on a thread in the Artist Forum labeled "Common Misnomers").
Most recently (read: just now), I have just renamed all of our second and third anniversary items. Please refrain from using numerals in item names whenever possible for the sake of uniformity. When in doubt, please check the thread previously mentioned, or perform a search of your own to compare to the spelling of existing items on site.

We’re going to ask you to bear with us again for what should [hopefully] be the last bit of significant downtime as we complete our upgrade to colocation!
At 8:00pm, September 24, 2007 [yes, today – sorry for the short notice!] we will be down for an unspecified amount of time to move the remains of Subeta from our old, dedicated servers to our new, collocated ones!
For those that are interested in the technical properties of this move, we’ve gone from one webserver to three, doubled the capacity of our database server along with many other improvements that you’ll hopefully see and feel in faster page loads and more users online!

ATTENTION ALL GOLD ACCOUNT USERS
Thanks to all the honest users of Subeta, I have now noticed the pattern of the Gold Account glitch and will be able to go through my list of Gold Account holders more effectively now. Thank you all VERY much for smailing me. Even if I didn't respond to your smail, I DID read them and greatly appreciate the time and effort you have all saved me.
What does this mean? It means you DO NOT need to smail me anymore regarding this glitch! (Huzzah!) Even if you haven't smailed me yet, you do not need to smail me. I know who you are now, and within the next few days or so (depending on the downtime) I will be going through the list and fixing the glitched GAs.
So, to answer some quick questions I know will come up:
1. Q. Can I activate a Gold Account Medal if my GA is glitched?
A. Yes. This will not negatively affect you. In fact, it actually seems to FIX the GA glitch.
2. Q. If I smailed you about my Gold Account glitch, are you going respond?
A. No. I have over 200 smails ONLY about the glitch, and I no longer need them to check anything. If you commented me your comments will be deleted because I don't need them. And because comments didn't really help anyway, as I would just ask those users to smail me.
3. Q. What if several days pass and my GA isn't fixed? Does this mean you missed me and think I'm abusing it/will you freeze me?
A. No. I know who tried to contact me, who hasn't been online (thus, you do NOT need to worry about your friends who haven't seen anything yet), I know the site's been down, etc, etc. If you're innocent I'll know it. If several days pass and your GA isn't fixed it's because I haven't reached you yet.
4. Q. How long should it take to complete this fixing?
A. This depends on a LOT of things, many of which involve people other than me. It'll get done, and in the meantime go on with your normal lives and let me worry about the nuts and bolts.
5. Q. If I have a question you didn't answer here, can I smail you?
A. Of course. However, please read the FAQ in my profile first, as that answers most questions.
If you sent me a smail NOT in regards to the Gold Account glitch, just resmail me it and I'll get to it ASAP. And, again, if you would like to reach me by AIM, it's in my profile as well.

Downtime
Subeta has been down due to hardware related issues. The hard drive in our primary webserver failed, and we were having trouble connecting to the server to fix it.
For the past few weeks, we have been working on new servers, that we own ourselves (at the moment we rent servers) which will provide a faster, more secure Subeta - as well as the ability to add more features without having to worry about lag or the inability for the site to handle it.
We were going to roll these servers out within the next two weeks, moving the site over slowly and throttling traffic. However, this complication has caused us to move forward on this plan, and try to get things over as fast as possible, without losing data or much time.
We're sorry for the downtime, but to make sure that it doesn't happen again soon, we will be having downtime within the next day or two. After that, we will be fully moved to new servers :)! If you are unable to access subeta.org, and want an update, I will be passing updates to the staff of SubetaHQ or posting there myself.
Also, yesterday was our Third Anniversary! We planned some fun, and new items to celebrate, however we are postponing that until we are in a stable server environment. :)! Thank you for playing Subeta!

ATTENTION ALL GOLD ACCOUNT USERS
If you are experiencing Gold Account problems, especially if your Gold Account did not expire when it was meant to (you can check this by going to your Preferences, where it says when it was meant to expire), SMAIL ME IMMEDIATELY. Please only smail me. If you do not smail me within the next 72 hours you will be disciplined for glitch abuse, which is an automatic freeze.
An Edit Since So Many People Need Clarity: You only need to smail me if your Gold Account was meant to expire and didn't. For example, if you activated a Gold Account Medal for 1 month on August 13th, and it's September 16th, and it still has not expired you need to smail me. If it is NOT supposed to expire, do not smail me. Example:
Bought on: August 14th
Expires in: 4 days
When it's September 16th is a cause to smail me. Please do NOT comment me. I have asked in this news post users smail me for a reason =)
Edit again: Okay, to clear up some confusion, if your Gold Account says "Expires in: 0" this means it will expire at midnight. If it does not, then just smail me. Otherwise you're fine.
And, to clear up some mass rumors: YOU WILL NOT BE FROZEN IF YOU REPORT THIS. You only risk being frozen if you choose to try and hide it. And yes, I know the difference between someone who honestly didn't know and someone who tried to hide it. I have my ways of telling.

There will be a scheduled downtime tonight at 1AM EST or later for a large amount of upgrades, Hardware and Software, Apache, php, MySQL Oekaki's and more.
The downtime shouldn't take more than an hour!
Keiths Note: This is not the recode. We are just fixing a few things with the software/hardware that Subeta runs on, that should result in speed increases, and less downtime in the future.

There are a few new hairstyles ot Try Out!
(Yes - I am aware that there is a problem with the wardrobe page not tabbing items right now, and I am working to fix it :))
Various parts of the site have been changed to reflect the new item mouse-over effect. This is going to be tweaked and changed, and moved around site-wide over the next few days.
Hopefully, you'll soon be able to gather all the data you need from an item by just hovering over it :)
Note: If you are having trouble getting this, or the new user-mouseovers to work, hold Ctrl on your keyboard, and press F5. This will reload the javascript libraries that were updated today :) If that doesn't work, clear ALL cache and temporary files - and it will defiantly reload.
PS: This is NOT SITEWIDE yet. At the moment this only works on select parts of the site, and is being extended over the next few days.
The velosotor and devonti have received a bit of an update in their common poses! The devonti is also now available in Nuclear and Marsh. The velosotor should be available in these colors soon.
