So i voted for the new look before i looked at the comments and i have to say i agree that neck,wings and moehawk need a tweek but other than that i really like the new design. I did not like the fester before this new possible revamp, it was way too cartoony before. If you change it to the revamp i will get one that day.
This new Fester is amazing! It's not my type of pet but for those that enjoy the species, this new one is a massive improvement. It's stunning! Congrats to the artisit who did this! :D
I love the new attention to detail in this one, but I'm not too big of a fan on the new wings. They seem very stiff, partly because the curve is less dramatic and partly because there doesn't seem to be as much depth in the wing. At the angle we see it, a bird's wing should curve away from us, like an abolone shell seen from the pearly side. A more clearly defined rim, the underlying bone and muscle, along the top of the wing would also help make this Fester seem more 3D. Other than that, much improved over the old, especially the shading =)

I totally agree with Tacster002. The main thing, however, is that it's missing it's sly smirk, which I adored.

totally digging this revamp, but I agree with the others who say that the neck should definitely be longer. I also think a little bit of color on the wing tips and or hair(?) tips would add a bit more character to the pet. Maybe the smirk too? ;)

I'm always happy to see revamps, no matter the pet, colour, or character, but I am especially happy about this one-- almost passionate. The Fester is one of my favourite pets because of my intense love of vultures (and birds as a whole), but I didn't really like how it looked; it was too cartoony/silly for my taste. This revamp is essentially everything I could wish to be changed about it, and I especially appreciate the mohawk being turned into a more believable crest. I don't have any opinion on whether or not the colour should match the original's common colour, but if the common colours are reused, I do hope that this new look is kept as the Twilight one (with the eye markings turned blue or purple to match, perhaps).
From what I've seen Subeta doesn't seem to pursue a particularly realistic style, and so I'm not sure how necessary it would be considered to improve this, but the anatomy is definitely lacking. I can be satisfied with this revamp as is, but as far as critique goes I have to say the biggest problem is the wings-- and the body doesn't really resemble a vulture's, but again, I don't know what level of realism is desired. The wings on pets have always been stylised/simplified, and that isn't a bad thing, but I feel that they could really use some work in this picture, at least as far as their shape goes (although the feathers are overlapping in an entirely incorrect way, to be frank). I don't think it's important to go into a lot of detail because I'm not trying to make a lecture here, but I highly recommend using some references to make adjustments on this revamp: folded vulture wing vultures walking another walking top side of wing underside in similar pose

I never particularly liked Festers, but omg I want this revamped one. I absolutely adore the detail in it's mohawk and the markings under the eyes. The coloring is incredibly gorgeous. EVERYONE VOTE NEW NOW.

honestly, I dont like it. The art is really good but its too different and it completely lacks the personality of the current fester.
I say that the new revamp is beyond beautiful! I love Blacklight Fester, and its pose should stay in my opinion...in case you revamp that one.

the new one is beautiful! i really like it, but.. i feel like it didn't have the same or a very similar personality as the old fester? maybe if that old free style, a little risky/crazy, but crazy interesting feel was captured more in the new one instead of this new cold, scary, dark beauty feeling. again, i really do like it, but it feels/looks almost like a new species of bird. like a closely related cousin! sorry... i rambled! i do like it though. just want a little more festery stuffs in it.
11 of my pets are Festers. I threw a fit when they were revamped the first time. I won't be doing that this time, but I would like the color scheme to be the same for each of colors. I will vote yes with the hope the Fester will finally be drawn in all colors.

I prefer the art of the new one, but the design of the old one. The new one looks more like a Twilight colour than a Common. I wouldn't mine the new one though.
I just realized the tips of the wings are a deep blue -- I love that! Just make the mohawk a blue, keep that awesome marking on the face, and you have the perfect twilight Fester. I honestly don't get why there's all the hate for the common Fester color -- almost nobody I know keeps the common color. I don't like green much, and I prefer black over brown, but Festers are brown with green mohawks :o buuuut. I kinda dig the black and blue more. But maybe a dark brown, with muddy green (avoiding being marsh now, lol) and the bright green mohawk back..? Or not, of course. It was said a few times, but I always took a fester as some "punk vulture," and he doesn't have that in the revamp. But I still love it. Sigh.
Of course we will all vote for the new art, it looks amazing :K

The new art is much nicer! That said, I miss the rebellious attitude of the old one, and definitely adding to the chorus of Long Necks plz!
That is one of the most incredible redraws I think I have ever seen! Way to take a pet that's lost it's luster and make it glam :)
Lovely upgrade . The wings look off though . They are too small and oddly angled . Color is awesome , but how will this affect dusk/twilight/nightmare colors . Could you guys make the mohawk lighter/different color than the body plumage .

I think this revamp is going in an amazing direction! The art is simply stunning! I read through the majority of the posts (too much time on my hands you say?) :) and I have to agree with the issues of color and what we might consider the Fester attributes (a mohawk, longer neck, & that devilish glint in the eye) Don't let the constructive criticism detract from the amazing job done by the artist though!! Well done!!!
OMG I'm not a huge fan of the bird pets.. and NEVER was I a fan of Festers but this revamp makes me think of a vulture hawk mix and I love it. If this revamp happens I am seriously concidering making Necromancer a bird <3 But I'd want to see what happens with the revamps of the other colors too. I'm thinking she'd be a nightmare Fester; depending on how the nightmare looks.
omg I love this. I would def get one and I don't often like the bird type pets. The color change is great, I think. I know people will be upset over the loss of the 'punk' look the current fester has, but this is a desperately needed revamp.
love, love, love, the new look, but i do think his neck should be longer. please to not change the... Darkmatter Fester, Galactic Fester, Blacklight Fester, Spectrum Fester, but most of all leave the Graveyard Fester the way it is. Reborn Fester needs to be updated. Im with Shalashaska about the neck...

I understand why the colors were changed for the serpenths and ruffies...but I just don't understand the change on these guys...and I agree with the others saying it's colors looks exactly like a dusk/twilight scheme.
While I really think that the Fester art needs to be revamped, I think that the new redesign makes it lose a lot of personality. I liked the Fester because of its rebellious, punk rock look. But now, it's just...a bird. :T
AMAZING. :heart: I've never really cared for the Fester's design, despite how much I've always actually wanted to like it (sounds odd, I know). I don't have any major problems, but I think if it had a liiiiittle more color and a bit of a smile/smirk, it'd be perfect.
So happy to see the Festers finally get some love!! Any update is a good one for these poor creatures!

And as my defense to "it looks too much like a dusk or a twilight", the Kumos is quite similar. I can see it becoming more of a richer blue for dusk, and dark velvety purple for twilight. ;3

The new art is great and a fester revamp would be great but honestly I'm not a fan of the proposed redesign. I don't like the colors, the expression, or the wings. I like the spunk of the current fester. I love the new art way better though. If the new art had more spunk I'd be sold.
I much prefer the dark personality change and I think the neck looks fine. And am I the only one that doesn't see a problem with the wings? xD
I'm glad I'm not the only one that would like the neck longer like in the old version. I would also like for the smug expression to return, as opposed to the stern one it has now. But all in all, the revamp looks pretty darn awesome :)
