Beautiful. :) I would say that I think its neck should be a little bit longer, and maybe the feathers on the head spiked up a bit more. And I wish the head were a bit more 3/4 turn like the old one instead of a profile view.
That is an AMAZING revamp. I love the concept much more. Although the wings and tail seem a little disproportionate. They just need to be a bit bigger/longer.

TanyaI voted yes, but I also agree with the users who have stated that the color shown would be better off being Twilight and the common fester should be kept brown, the mohawk doesn't have to be green like it was, but the color scheme for common should be brown. I also agree that the neck should look longer and the issues with the wings should be tweaked before it's actual release.
Very nice. Though the colors DO look similar to Twilight. Overall the Fester looks more appealing to me this way. I'd like to see it passed.

But I do agree with some of the other users about:
-the neck doesn't need to be very much longer, but for example drawing the line in front a little bit longer so the neck "disappears" in the fluff, instead of behind it. I think that may look better and make the neck seem longer too.
-the anatomy, even though I'm not an expert, something seems a little bit off.
-I don't get the markings under the eye. I personally think it looks strange.
-and the color. I love the colors, but it do remind me of the twilight color.

While it's definitely an improvement, I have to comment on the wings, since they're the first things I noticed. They look more like fuzzy vestigial appendages than wings, at least in functionality. The primary feathers don't seem to be making the right shape, especially on the slightly extended wing. Both wings also look to have the same feather configuration on both the ventral and dorsal sides, which would probably make it very hard for it to fly. While I know Subeta isn't realism, the shape and configuration of a bird's wing feathers are kind of necessary to it being easily recognizeable as an actual wing, and would help it look more naturally feathered as opposed to randomly fluffy.
I REALLY love the new coloring and really really love the head/crest feathers! I hope those stay if they don't stick with this particular new version.
Also seconding what some others have said about that slight smirky superior look the old fester has. I'd like to see some of that in the new one. This current revamp just looks angry.
Wow, that's so much better! You really didn't have to Subeta artists, but thank you! I never liked the cartoony-ness of the old Fester.

Eeeeee my favourite pet. I so hoped DNA would stick with us for this revamp, but this is pretty awesome.
I'm not entirely sure about the wings on this new one. They're a little on the small side and the perspective doesn't seem quite right to me. I'm also not sure about the angle of the beak where it attaches to the head.
Those are pretty minor nitpicks though, I'm very taken with this overall - and some of my oldest and best loved pets are festers so I'm highly invested in the species remaining awesome.

Totally Rockin', keeping the hawk and punk feel about it but REVAMPING the shiiiiiii out of it!
I miss the more vulture look to be honest! I feel like if the neck were longer and the wings were made to look less stiff and..furry? That it would be great. I also think the original colors work better.
The new version is nicely drawn, a few kinks that could get worked over with regards to the awkwardness of the wing, posing, maybe elongating the neck...

I agree with what some others have said- very, very nice. I also agree that the pose seems a bit stiff, and another, more natral pose might be a better choice. Other than that, revamp FTW!

Oh, SNAP. The Fester has definitely been at the top of my list for revamps and I am so happy to see he's getting some love!

I really appreciate the mix between a falcon (or harpy eagle?) and vulture here, and find this sort of pet a fabulous addition to the species choices Subeta offers. I realize this new version appears quite different than the original, especially in the color scheme and pose, but I find his crown of feathers a definite upgrade from his strange, green mohawk and his darker feathers a beautiful choice for this bird. The vibrant colors beneath the eye of the revamp seems to hold what the old fester had for it's colors, as a kind of memorial which I find clever and appropriate.
The only thing I hope to see changed before a decision is made based on the polls is the pose. I know very little about bird anatomy, but his stance seems awkward and stiff.

I really do like the new design. The old Fester never impressed me much, but this fellow is lovely! I hope the legs and wings get a little more attention and tweaking, but I do love this. I always found the colour and texture of the mohawk really jarring, the feather look and matching colouring really enhances the pet. For the first time I'd actually consider getting a Fester.
I'm not a big fan of that pet in general, but i LOVE the coloring of the new one, i love grey, and those colors are amazing!

I think my main deal is that I wish the color scheme was still based around browns and that it still had a more arrogant expression/maybe a few feathers flopped forward on the head? ~lil' edgy~.
BUT YEAH OTHER THAN COLORS and some anatomy stuff people who know bird anatomy (unlike me) have pointed out, this revamp seems to be going in a holy-crap-let-me-have-you direction |D ♥️.

The only thing with this apart from the color looking a lot like the twilight version, is perhaps if the head/face could be turned a bit towards the front. At the moment the revamp looks more 2-D then the original.

The revamp really fits with the Graveyard Fester. Although the Angelic, Reborn, Scribble, Spectrum, and Galactic would need to be revamped to match.
Now as for critique - I study avian anatomy a lot, so I like to think I know what I'm talking about. The right wing seems... too short. The wrist is awkwardly positioned, as is the right foot. Also, I really would prefer if the coloration were still similar to the old version.

I love the new colour scheme honestly - it may be kind of twilighty, but some common pets are just similar to other colours (dragarth is like dusk, mahar like marsh, charlie/dawn, etc) and there's lots of room for the twilight one to be different - all black, brighter blue somewhere, stuff like that. I was never a fan of the green 'hawk and definitely didn't like the peachy head and neck. This version looks great! If it's released like this with no changes I'll be thrilled.
Love the new design, the art is fantastic, but I agree with those who said the new look changes the whole personality of the species. I wouldn't mind seeing a version with a little smirk, and some of the headfeathers flopped forward, reminiscent of the old mohawk. Maybe add a tweaked version to the poll, so you can see if people prefer the more serious redraw, or one with a bit of the old "punkish" look?
Keep in mind I don't own a fester and I'm not sure if I'll have room for one anytime soon, so please don't give my opinions more weight than people who do own them.

also.... the other revamps are all similar to the older version, meaning the colors didn't change all that much. I wish it were the same with this one. I've been waiting to see what a revamp of this pet would look like.

Agreeing with Keshi and previous comments about the color scheme. This is a great color for twilight, but yeah that was my first thought as well... it just wouldn't be a fester without the original punk-colors! Still the art is beautiful c:
I like it, but I don't see it resembling the original. If the feathers were brown and the green hair, it would be a nice revamp... but the colors are "off". If I were asked if I like the similarity I would say no. But it sure is pretty!

The old one is almost..Too cartoony, but with this one bordering realism, it looks Fantastic, especially with the look that fits a vulture-like creature. I may have to re-think about getting one, for sure :3

I never liked the old fester. I thought it looked like a silly cartoon character. I love the new one. I especially love the colors, which are so much more realistic for the animal, since it seems to be an eagle. Overall, I like everything about it, not just the colors, but the way the body is posed as well. I don't think that I would ever have a fester, but for ppl who like pets with a more "dark" or sinister look, this pet is much better with the new design. I think it's a keeper. :) Just don't get it confused with a turkey and eat it for thanksgiving. Gobble gobble....lol! :) (you can always eat the canned fester if you're desperate, I suppose)
I love the new fester! The pose and the general personality that it gives is wonderful. I only have one fester and it's Graveyard because the other colors were a bit too....goofy perhaps for my taste. Birds to me should be either majestic or even frightening. This new version pulls it off perfectly! I would be more likely to change another pet to a fester once some of the other colors are updated to this look.
