That is so much better... I wonder why there's a poll for revamps that are clearly better and no poll for ones that aren't that needed and get controversial, like the darkmatter montre...

I've never liked festers very much, but I would VERY much like this new version. The only thing that seems off to me is the ankle/toes area, but I'm not sure how.

This new Fester will be very much loved! IMO the Fester looks better without the cartoony smile!
Also, unless you're an artist or anatomist on vultures...do you really need to critique the revamp? (I have vultures living around my home, but doesn't mean that I know anything about their anatomy.)

Wow. This is an outstanding revamp. I have never been too fond of the fester, but this is absolutely stunning. I love its new beak and the marking underneath the eye.
The art is a huge improvement over the old one, really, congrats :D
The biggest issue is probably that the pose does look rather stiff, I think it's the fault of its right wing somehow? (like many people before me said, I guess) And I agree that its neck could probably be a bit longer for a more vulturine look but if the new design is meant to be less vulture-like it's fine too :)

I really love this new design. I agree that the old Fester's features (like the green mohawk) were unique, but I'd gladly give them up for this new version. If this new version came to light, I'd be very likely to use one of my Loyalty Boxes to make a new pet space so I could get one. :)
I actually quite prefer the new one. I've never been a fester fan, but god if this change happens, I just might be getting one. The new one seems so much more vulture like, while still being recognized as the fester.
I say yes, to the revamp. The old one's colors never had too much an appeal. The colors and textures of the new one are undoubtedly quite charming.
However, if I were to nitpick anything, I feel the pose for the new one is a little awkward. I'd prefer the pose of the old one because we could see the body, both wings and the picture looked balanced. In the new one, the body is angled and the wing looks like it was extended just ye far in order to make up for the white space uncovered caused by the angle the fester's body is facing. The old one had great white space coverage and looked centered (relaxed). However, I'd prefer the new one STILL because the colors and textures are more appealing. I especially LOVE the change in the head fluff. The green mohawk was a turn-off for me, but the new fluff of dark feathers is gorgeous. Sadly, I do not think I'd ever own a Fester, but I think with the new design they will hopefully gain more popularity. :)

Personally, I hope the colors stay this way. I know one of the reasons I veered from Festers to begin with was the green Mohawk and brown/white body. I also love the expression of the new one more, it just makes it look like a total bad ass. (And beaks can't smirk anyway).
I would agree, however, that the neck could be longer. Festers are based on vultures (and eagles also if I remember?) after-all.
Over-all, this revamp reminds me of when the Irion was revamped from the Aerie. Ah, memories.

I'm torn. I love the art on the new one, but I really dislike the monotone. Perhaps you could bring back the color?
Oh gods yes- the new one looks wonderful. I love his sleek almost angry look that I associate with the raptors that live in my area. I might just get one if they look like that :D

I love the redesign over the old fester, but only because of the update in art and detail. I feel the neck should be the tiniest bit longer to reflect the long neck on the old fester and the the left(?) wing needs a noticeable indention so it doesn't look like it was put on backwards. I feel like the colors should be changed because this fester looks like a twilight version rather than the original/common. I do miss how the nails/claws on the old fester look bloodstained. I also miss the smile/smirk on the old fester as it added to its personality. On the new fester it feels like I'm looking at the drawing of a real life vulture instead of a pet on a fantasy site.

When birds fold their wings up, it doesn't look at all as if they could open them to the length they really are. Birds are also extremely lightly-built, even large raptors and buzzards like the Fester here seems to be inspired of, so it wouldn't be difficult for it to get off the ground.

I don't care for Festers either way, but I think I'll have to be the odd one out and vote against the redesign based on a purely artistic standpoint. So here's my feedback:
The "old" Fester at least has some flow and "life" to its design, even if it looks garish and cartoony. The "new" one, on the other hand, looks stiff and fake, almost like a badly-stuffed taxidermy specimen. The "anime fluff" wings and "feather mohawk" on the new design are also a massive turn-off - if you're going to try to make something look more realistic, please at least take the time to look up anatomical references if there's something stumping you. Going to all the trouble of making (most of) the head and body look more realistic just makes the decidedly UNrealistic wings and mohawk stand out and look incredibly lazy and slapped on.
For reference, HERE is a very good shot of a turkey vulture's outstretched wings, and HERE is a wonderful reference of a harpy eagle showing off her own fantastic "feather mohawk." Both are also excellent references for body and wing proportions, something else the "new" design falls short on.

Teeny-tiny wings, this bird would never get off the ground. Still I do like the art, it's got it's good points obviously and is way more shiney and skilled than the old. Not so sure -why- the design change needed to be so radical, but it's obvious that this new Fester is much more well received than the old one. I'm just going to say his neck looks a bit too short, if you could lengthen it up I think it'd look better. He looks very cranky though, I think bebe Fester may need a hug. Maybe tip the edges of his beak up and give him a smiiile, he'll look more handsome for it.
I never liked the old fester but I never thought it looked bad. However this new one is amazingly beautiful. I'd be very tempted to adopt one or to change one of my current pets into one.
The new one looks great! While I do not like Festers, that new art makes me kind of tempted to adopt one.
I Love it! The feathers look amazing! But I agree with many of the other users, it's just missing that little quirk that Festers have.
While the new art is great I think it loses something between the old and new. The new one looks just grumpy and dull with lack of colour.
Oh my goodness, that is super sexy! I love it so much! I may have to get one~ I especially love the yellow markings under the eyes and the new head feathers!
I do kinda agree withShalashaska on the wings being too droopy... I work at a wildlife center and the raptors with broken wings do tend to droop their wings like that. I think the one on the right should be properly pulled back, and the other can be raised. (They can raise their wings pretty far up)
I also completely disagree with anyone asking to put a smirk on it's beak... I think it has a badass expression on it's face already, plus, beaks can't smirk. :/

@Dickie all birds are top heavy, the majority of their weight it carried between their shoulders, the same is true for most flying animals and machines, even aeroplanes have the centre of gravity between, or near, the shoulders. It does make birds prone to toppling on the ground (see albatross landings) but in flight it's for the best.
