If you're just joining us, this morning we suffered a database crash, followed by an unlucky failure of both our slave server backup (which had a day-old copy of the database still on it) and our datacenter's backup system. On top of that, our slave server's copy of the database turned out to be corrupt, and took most of the day to repair.
However, we're now back up and running, albeit rolled back to sometime on Saturday. A couple of notes about the rollback:
If you don't have items that you purchased, don't worry... you'll still have the sP for them. It's like the purchase never happened.
If you bought cash shop credits over the weekend and don't have them, make a ticket about it and he can help you.
If you're missing achievements that you got over the weekend, especially those related to the event, don't worry... you will have plenty of time to earn them back.
If you applied for an artist position this weekend, please resubmit your application as these are stored in our database.

Last time as Shedevil ( Jake ) stated in the event that would happen again I came out really good, this time a bit rougher! Still searching my shop, vault, etc. to determine what was lost! Yet thus it is turning out better then it seemed! I was able to use the CS credits to purchase a 1 month GA which I sold for 6.2 mill so pending further I think I got thru okay! I'm so sorry for all of you who lost millions- I think the only big lost on my account was a Valentines gift from a friend. :K

Well there is noway possible for me to be able to spend the time I need on here to get back my achievements. some of us cant sit in front of a computer all day.
I had an account here starting in Jan 2005. Summer 2005 the whole site tanked and I lost my whole account. Six months. All my pets, all my items, everything. When confronted with signing up and starting from scratch, I just didn't have the heart. So I came back a year ago last Hallowe'en, and have gone through one rollback of two plus weeks and a site hijacking. So I've weathered worse. I'm a bit put off by the amount of time I spent here this long weekend, but it could have been worse.
I am disappointed in the promise that was made to us that steps had been taken to prevent this ever happening again, and now it has. But it just goes to show that nothing computerized is ever as much under our control as we should like it to be.

Thank you to the staff for the 500 CS credits. While I know that this doesn't "make up" for the amount of time that people lost, or any restocks that were made, I think that this definitely let's us know that you guys care. So for that, I thank you.

Im going to re-itterate what someone else already said: This was the WEEKEND. Many (Most) of us have school/work on the weekday, which consumes most of our time, not including homework for us school people. Many people here work full-time jobs, many of us students have 6-hours of school and then homework. It was the WEEKEND, which means we did not have things to do, so we sat on subeta. It gave us much more time to work on things, because we didn't have that 6 hours of school+homework time or job time taken. (Ok, well, its 6 1/2 hours of school here, idk about other places) why do i keep reading this newspost anyways, i should really stop.
I play here knowing this site isnt perfect. I will continue to play knowing that shit happens. Its just a game, nothing more.

ok here is something i learned in a computer course...full backups and partial backups of data...perhaps each day sometime Subeta's database(s) have to have a setup for a full backup...if it not already being done...obviously it wasn't done sometime sunday since everyone lost everything they did this weekend on Subeta including myself...all the time and energy we wasted this weekend...cannot stress enough the importance of: full backups of the databases for Subeta...the happier the adult players like myself who has the money to spend without having to ask permission first to buy cash credits on Subeta then the more likely that the adult players will buy the cash credits...happy gamers/customers equals increase chance of monetary profits...good business sense...another thing i learned in university so far <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" />

Wow. That really sucks. I don't think I want to spend my entire WEEK working on what I did this weekend. I don't think I'll be hitting up any of the achievements I worked my butt off to get these past few days. Yeah, I know it's not really anyone's fault.. but it really irks me there's not a 30min backup or something.. where we'd only loose that much time.. instead of like a week.. To help, maybe drop down the times for the hearts and bites? It would help us all out so much better. It's really not that fair to work that hard again...

How are we supposed to get achievements? Now the candy hearts are 30 minutes!? And all the shops are open, so how do we use the potion? This is so ridiculous!! I wasted enough time this weekend gathering all I needed to for the achievements, I don't have time to do it all over again. Such BS.

Sales and purchases during the weekend are COMPLETELY different than those made during the week, and also ESPECIALLY because it was Valentine's Day. Now, many of those may not be made because it's not VDAY anymore. Just something else I thought of, is all. <br /><br /> Also, my GA ended on the NIGHT of Valentine's Day, which I lost the chance to autoprice all the things that I had vended, which also means I'd have to vend again, but I'd at least like that time back so that I can vend again and autoprice.
I don't think that people are getting the point: This happened over the weekend. People don't have to work on the weekend. They have to work during the conventional week.

I appreciate all of the time and effort the staff and others put in to Subeta... but this shouldn't have happened... the first rollback was bad enough, and now this! I'm interested to see the compensation (if there's going to be one)... because there is a LOT of unhappy people, including myself.

Dude I agree furiously with Spudcicle! I am royally pissed off about al these updates and shut downs, I haven't lost anything but when I try to come here to have some fun I get pissed really fast because of the god damned MySqls page popping up! >( I don't know what the hell you guys think you're doing but you seriously need to get it sorted out before some people get really pissed and just take off!! I love this site and all but it's starting to make me mad and the only reason I don't just ditch it is because of all the work I've put into gathering items and sP! I know you guys are trying to fix everything but whatever's going on with the servers you need to protect it better and stop changing things like the wardrobe which isn't helpful at all. And then the Subetapedia, which is very useful when you're wondering about a character in the game, also created a ton of errors that made a bunch of people annoyed I know me and my friends who play are all pretty pissed. Most of them lost some pretty awesome items and they're not the happiest right now. Thanks for fixing it but you need to work harder to prevent these things from happening!
