Hi everyone. I'm glad that part is over.
If you're just joining us, this morning we suffered a database crash, followed by an unlucky failure of both our slave server backup (which had a day-old copy of the database still on it) and our datacenter's backup system. On top of that, our slave server's copy of the database turned out to be corrupt, and took most of the day to repair.
However, we're now back up and running, albeit rolled back to sometime on Saturday. A couple of notes about the rollback:
If you don't have items that you purchased, don't worry... you'll still have the sP for them. It's like the purchase never happened.
If you bought cash shop credits over the weekend and don't have them, make a ticket about it and he can help you.
If you're missing achievements that you got over the weekend, especially those related to the event, don't worry... you will have plenty of time to earn them back.
If you applied for an artist position this weekend, please resubmit your application as these are stored in our database.

Wow.. all my sP I made from selling items and item hunt, a lucky raffle I won, stickers people stuck on me, the achievements I got, the games I played, the quests I did... all gone. -___- I am really glad subeta is back and that everything is fixed for now, but I am really not going to be excited about Subeta very much anymore. i don't think it would be necessary to shorten time limits now, the people who earned them earlier had to wait. just chalk it up as a loss and deal with it.

Like I've had like... 1.5 hour waits for hearts before, and mostly they're at half hours now... But it took to only.. yesterday. Well. or... two days from now. So...the 450k I got from a purchase before this whole event never happened. I neither have the item NOR the sP I received for the item. So I'm screwed.

Im furious that we have to do all of our lost achievements over. It takes hours because of the time limits. This is stupid.
Well I know it happens, but I am little sad that I am back sick again and I lost my cure and my doctor's mask. I'll be glad when the biting is over. It reminds me of when I had a staph infection that almost killed me. Oh well I know y'all can help it. I am just in a crappy mood overlook me.

As terrible as it is that we lost our work especially being it was over a weekend when people get free time to do this, I think some people are being a little dramatic. I'm never opposed to extra GA time, though. -nudge- =D

May I ask how long the Love Epidemic is planned to continue for? :3 I'm going to be gone for a week and am just wondering if I'll have the chance to get achievements once I return. ^^;

Sad part is the site can rollback, but my life doesn't rollback...all that time I spent getting those achievements, I'll never get back...*sigh*

Thanks for the update... I didn't seem to lose much except Lamouracillin, candy hearts, and Den purchases. Easy enough to get back!

I'm really glad that you guys got the site up and working again, but I have to concur with the people requesting that you either lengthen the amount of time before the Love Epidemic ends or shorten the intervals on the collections. Data loss always sucks, but it sucks exponentially more when it happens during a site-wide event like this.

Quit bitching people, they didn't even /have/ to fix it as fast as they did. We are lucky that the staff here cares enough to fix things as fast as they can when shit hits the fan. And to you, Foxaroo, go, go suppot Viacom, because that little comment right there make me think you're a dick, and I don't even know you. Subeta is a much smaller site, and it does take a wile to fix shit. At least there's not 10 ads per page.

Could you keep us superupdated with server updates and everything? I've made quite a few changes (some big ones) on my account Saturday night and yesterday. I understand there is nothing I can do about that now, aside from redoing them. But I would like to know that the server is.. secured and backed up properly. As you stated, lightning can strike twice and what's worse than having to do redo it again? Redoing the redo!

x.x I lost 2 pets, a dm potion, hearts, tokens, about 15 achievements, and a whole lot more from this; great to see my ga funds are being distributed properly :| Do I even get time added to my ga for this nonsense?
I realize that this was an unfortunate accident and I'm sure staff feels very badly about it, since nothing can be done to bring back all the hard work that people put in this weekend. It couldn't have happened at a much worse time, as gaining all the achievements was a royal PITA, although a lot of fun at the same time. I hope staff can realize that many people cannot put in the time that they did over the weekend to re-coop what they accomplished, so here are few suggestions to help make it up.
These things won't make up for all that was lost, and while I doubt that any of you will loose your paycheck for the weekend's work that you put in, all the users just lost their "paycheck" for the work they did over the weekend.
- Make biting easier - less time
- Make Hearts every 5 min. instead of Random
- Change Skitters to every Half hour
- Change MC to every 6 hours for a couple of days.
- Restock the Token Shop - the Dried Rose no longer exists
- Increase Random Events for the week.
- Add more time to GAs.
These things won't make up for all that was lost, and while I doubt that any of you will loose your paycheck for the weekend's work that you put in, all the users just lost their "paycheck" for the work they did over the weekend.
everyone should calm down...it's not the end of the world! just do everything again. You should be happy the site is okay
