Quest-A-Thon: Coming Soon!
Are you ready to quest because we’re having another Quest-A-Thon! Starting at 12:00am on August 20th you will have until 11:59pm on August 27th to complete 1,000,000 quests.
During this time, you will need to complete quests from the following quest givers to have them count: Carl, Cinthia, Mori or Nori, Alexander, Maleria, Pete, Quentin, Saggitarius, Sarah, and The Wizard. Just a reminder that regular users can complete 10 quests per quest giver and Gold Account users can complete 15 quests.
For those who have brought up Sarah’s quests in the past, we will be updating her quest a bit. More information to come when we start the Quest-A-Thon.
Once the Quest-A-Thon starts, you’ll be able to see everyone’s progress with a status bar on the news page. If the goal is completed, everyone that has participated will receive 1 new pet slot, the forum title “Sir Quest A Lot”, 5 Raffle Tickets, and 1 Referral point!

I hope this Quest-a-thon will be tiered. People who only do one quest shouldn't get the same prizes as people who do most or all of their quests.
Your so welcome @Kreeki :) blush- Your doing me a favor because I loooove giveaways -the whole reason I play subeta is to do a massive giveaway during Lumineve - last year I gave away 800mil sP in prizes -shoved them in people's stockings- so it's nice to do a mini giveaway before hand. Already spent sP on a gold account in preparation. It's not going to be easy, that 1mil mark is a bit daunting, but I think we can do it guys!
A million quests? That seems like a lot since we barely even made 750,000 last time. Maybe it should have been 850k

I agree with the idea to make all quests weekend quests during the quest-a-thon. School just started for some people, so they need extra incentive to come on here. Also agree with sending out a newsletter to alert other users! :)
could we see a newsletter this time, too? pull in the people on hiatus or vacation, maybe ;w;

I'm always down for a title. I only have one pet, so pet slots don'y interest me. Wish I could give them away to people who want them. Last time was a close call. And now a mill. I always have hope. I will quest vigorously.
Eek, and we almost didn't make it last time. :/ If we fail will the next one be at the same 1mill quest mark until we succeed? I'll do all the quests I can, as usual, for that sweet sweet sP, but I'm already scared.

I'm excited for another quest-a-thon (especially to see that Sarah's quest is changing), but I really wish there was an alternative prize option for the pet slot.
The other things can at least be saved up and used for future content, but the pet slot is truly not something I will ever use. I'm currently only using 6 of my 13 available slots and it's going to stay that way. Two of those slots were from prizes, one from a loyalty box (I didn't have enough lock slots and was focused on other games at the time so GA felt pointless. Either way my only choice was to essentially "waste" the box). The 6 pets I have is already more than enough to keep me busy. Hell, even focusing on two of them is a huge struggle for me, so if anything I need to start adopting half of them out.
I don't know how much a pet slot would be worth in sp/csc, but these would be some marvelous alternate choices if they're a comparable value:
- GA time
- 1 free pet/user rename
- free autotraining for a number of sessions

I hope updated Sarah is able to change her rewards based on user wealth so she can still give bonuses to new users and normalized rewards for wealthier players.

I'm surprised at how many people missed all the hints about another quest for the summer LOL. I've been waiting for this, was wondering what was considered "summer" since my daughters first day of school is on the 25th.

Curious to see what staff has planned with Sarah's quests too.
1m is a lot, but we do have eight days for this one instead of just seven last time (and the extra day is a weekend day, which always has more people on!). We just have to average 125k quests per day (which isn't all that much more than 107k-ish quests per day) - plus, this is August, not June. D:

I fear if I do the math on how many people need to do every quest with a gold account every day...

(9 x 15) x 7 = 945 quests you can complete in that week
1,000,000 / 945 = 1058
we need 1,058 people to quest daily with a GA or it's equivalent

Ugh, the last two times we hit 80,000. During summer. My school just started in 15th, not sure if we can make it to 1,000,000. But I'll do what I can. Can't deny that sweet sP.

I'll try my best to do all my quests... think I've managed to on all the previous ones. This new amount is really intimidating though... trying to decide if I want to get a 1 week medal... gah.

I wish there was a minimum number higher than 1 :/ Like do at least 10 quests from each quest NPC AT LEAST. No effort events are disappointing for people who really hustle and put the time in.
The timing is absolute worst for me as I'll be busy moving next week, but I'll try to participate as much as I can regardless!

Hmm, I hope we can make that goal with a certain number of us missing out completely on at least a couple days of this because of the eclipse. Maybe not many Subetans will actually be traveling for that but I know I will...and it sounds like I'll be lucky to have cell service at all, let alone an ability to do quests. Oh well, good luck to us all!

Oh darn! I'll be gone August 20th and 21st for the eclipse but I'll be back to help on the 22nd forward.
@Amber I'd forgotten about that. I don't mind the increased rewards and maybe doing 1 million quests won't be too bad that is if my internet cooperates especially on Eclipse day. I'm in the path of totality and rather dreading all the increased traffic. But either way it will be fun!

Wow! 1,000,000!!! That's a bunch. I hope there will be an increase in the # of quests done to qualify. It's never seemed quite fair that you got the prizes if you only did 1 quest.

@crashingnightingales You guys have done 750,000 a few times in the past though. And have actually done more than that before (that's not the highest goal we've had before). With the increase in prizes (some requested by users at that!) I think more people will be interested this time around too :)
