Another successful trip into the Krypts! Blake Steele has returned with a pieces of both Frankencluck and Frankenpie and put them in the Crystal Shop!



Achievement Note: Since the last post about achievements, a feature has been added to the system.

Meta-Achievements are achievements that require other achievements to get. For example, the Dr. Frankenstein achievement requires the Frankenpie Chef and Frankencluck Doctor achievements to earn.

With the first hints of the colder season approaching, Captain Jacques and his crew are retreating to warmer waters, and seem to have taken the last few Pirate Cutlasses from the Millionaire Center with them. (We understand Jacques has a bad habit of being a bit too enthusiastic in practice and throwing his overboard by accident!)

There are varying stages to darkmatter possession. The first stage is fear, which the darkmatter terracoon clearly demonstrates. Poor thing. The last stage, acceptance, is being shown today by the darkmatter legeica. Research is still being conducted on the stages in between.

NOTE: Since September doesn't really have any appropriate pet theme, and darkmatter was lacking attention, we're going to be concentrating on pushing out some new and revamped darkmatter pets over the next week or so for you! Hi all! I'm happy to report that the fight against General Error, who recently revealed himself as the commander of the SQL army, is going well. To further the efforts of the Subeta SQL Resistance Front, we've decided to institute a weekly strategic downtime window every Tuesday beginning at 1AM Subeta time (EST) and hopefully ending around 2-3AM.


We're going to use this weekly downtime to take backups, make changes to the servers, and of course to plant more traps for those pesky SQLs. ;)


We've chosen the downtime window right after the weekend so we can ensure that our backups are taken immediately after the time of greatest activity for our users.


The first instance of this downtime will be tonight at 1AM EST.


To arms, friends! Let us stand and defend Subeta against the SQLs!

Happy Fifth Anniversary!!





Today marks the fifth anniversary of the opening of Subeta, and we couldn't be more proud. This has been a successful year for us, with the introduction of new features like the Achievements, and we feel that we've made things more interesting with the Love Epidemic and other events.



We're so grateful to all of you, the users, for spending time on our site and making sure that we stay on our toes. I speak for the entire SubetaTeam when I say that we all absolutely enjoy working on Subeta and hope to spend another year working on it for all of you! ;)



Throughout the next few days you can find Fifth Anniversary Stars floating around the site. Clicking on them will put them in your inventory, and if you unfold them carefully, you might find a nice prize!

Hi all! This is just an update regarding the recent issues we've experienced (over the past 2 days). If you're not inclined to read on, you should just know that there's going to be a 2-hour downtime window tonight around 12:30 am for us to take a few backups.



So anyway, a couple of days ago one of our web servers suffered a small hard disk crash. This happened to be the web server that stores the site images, however, so it being suddenly unavailable caused some random problems to develop, including difficulty loading the site, images not loading, and avatar saving problems, etc.



Fortunately, we were able to restore from an images backup, and we were even able to recover some the data that had been "lost", so there was no long-term effect to the site at all.



I'm happy to say that in this case everything worked mostly as planned - we were able to move the images share to another server and run everything. We had a few hiccups with the aforementioned problems, and next time we'll know what to watch out for!



That said, tonight we will be taking the site offline to take another images backup. Our artists have been working hard lately, and we want to protect their updates!

Image Notice






We've got the image server back online (I'm sure you noticed!) however our most recent backup of the image directory lacked the items and images from the past couple of days.



You may notice that some items don't have images, or there isn't a wearable version of your favorite new item. Some of the recently revamped or released pets may not show up correctly.



This is something we are working to correct, but it involves basically re-uploading all of the artwork on the artists part, and readding it on our part as it's uploaded.



Because of the significant downtime earlier today, we are leaving the cash shop sale up throughout tomorrow, in case you've been having problems purchasing, or you want to snatch that Gold Account medal on the cheap ;).

First of all, thank you to all of you who have contributed to our billboard program over the last year. We feel it’s been a huge success as far as providing you with a means to advertise your site activities, as well as provide everyone with a few laughs and helpful tips along the way.

Since the project has been so successful, we want to expand what we allow you to post on your billboards in order to give you, the user, some more flexibility in what you can advertise. So, starting immediately, you can submit billboards that advertise things such as (but not limited to):

1) Subeta fansites
2) Your DeviantArt page
3) Your Etsy shop
4) Your YouTube channel (or YouTube videos that you like)
5) MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter pages (and other social networking outlets)

...and other sites of that nature. Basically, sites that are appropriate for a PG-13 audience, don’t promote or refer people to other petsites, and don’t spam (click to pay sites, etc.). Try to keep your advertisements good-natured and personal.

Now, it’s important to remember that the approval of advertisements is ALWAYS at the staff’s discretion. If we feel that your content is inappropriate, scammy, spammy, or just plain rude, we reserve the right to reject it. If you have any questions about the appropriateness of an ad you’d like you submit, feel free to make a ticket regarding its content before you submit it, in order to make sure that it will be approved before you spend your money (or sP).
