Fulla had always been the responsible one.

She was born to Nepr and his wife, the oldest of many siblings. Unfortunately, none of her siblings survived past adolescence. All except her youngest, Nanna, who was born when Fulla was basically an adult. That birth claimed their mother’s life, and so it fell onto Fulla to basically raise her own sister.

But Fulla had her own life to live as well, and so when Nanna was old enough, Fulla sought it out. She found it in the service to Frigg as one of her handmaidens. It was Fulla’s duty to take care of anything and everything Frigg might need or require of her. Fulla loved helping Frigg choose her gowns, she loved brushing Frigg’s hair and styling it, she loved everything about her duties as a handmaiden.

But soon, she found she loved more than just that… she realized she loved Frigg.

It pained her to see Frigg cry when her husband went away, and she did anything she could to help her feel better. Fulla quickly became Frigg’s closest friend and confidant, and Fulla kept all Frigg’s secrets close, refusing to share them even with Frigg’s other handmaidens.

One day, while hugging and consoling Frigg while Odin was away, there seemed to be this pull. Frigg kissed Fulla on her neck softly, sending goosebumps down Fulla’s skin. Turning her face towards Frigg, their lips then met. What happened could not be stopped. The two women had been holding pent up feelings for one another for quite some time.

From then on, whenever Odin was away, Fulla would share Frigg’s bed.

One day Frigg shared with Fulla a troubling dream her son Baldr was having. Fulla could tell there was more to it than just a dream, that Frigg believed it to be a prophecy. So Fulla suggested they go to all the nine realms and get everything to swear an oath not to harm Baldr. And so Fulla accompanied Frigg on this journey.

They got oaths from every man, woman and child. Oaths from every body of water, every tree, every stone. Only Frigg didn’t ask the mistletoe, and so by mistletoe Baldr was slain. Sweet Nanna, who had become Baldr’s wife, died of grief at the loss of her beloved husband. Both Frigg and Fulla shared in their grief, for Frigg lost her son, and Fulla lost her sister who had been much like a daughter to her.
